The newly introduced Interzoo Personality Award was presented to Norbert Holthenrich, President of ZZF, in recognition of his outstanding contribution to the international development of Interzoo. In his laudation, Gordon Bonnet, CEO of ZZF and WZF, highlighted Holthenrich’s strategic vision in guiding the trade fair’s evolution while maintaining a careful balance between growth and stability.

The equally new Interzoo Sustainability Award was presented to dsm-firmenich for the development of an algae-based omega-3 ingredient. The solution helps conserve marine resources and supports more sustainable approaches to animal nutrition. The award was presented by Elliott Harris, former United Nations Assistant Secretary-General for Economic Development and former Chief Economist of the United Nations.

The newly introduced Interzoo Pioneer Award recognises start-ups and bold entrepreneurs, highlighting the innovative spirit that drives the pet industry forward. This year’s award went to first-time exhibitor Redoggo, a young company specialising in dog accessories. Although it has been on the market for less than two years, the company has already chosen Interzoo as a platform to showcase its ambitions to an international audience.

Zealandia Ltd. from New Zealand received the Interzoo Long Distance Award in recognition of the longest journey to Nuremberg. With this award, NürnbergMesse and Interzoo organiser WZF underscore the truly global reach and international appeal of the world’s leading trade fair for the pet industry.

The award winners are a powerful reflection of the diversity, international character and forward-looking mindset of today’s pet industry, providing valuable inspiration for exhibitors and visitors alike.

One particularly distinctive feature of this year’s awards was the sustainable design of the trophies themselves. Developed exclusively for Interzoo by Upstream Trophies, they are crafted from recycled and upcycled materials and come with a resource passport that provides full transparency about their material composition and origin.
