In this interview with ZZF animal expert Dr. Stefan K. Hetz and Volker Ennenbach, owner of Das Tropenparadies, we take a closer look at the ZZF Pet of the Year 2026, the poison-dart frog. Experts will talk about the biology and special behavior of these tiny spectacular colored frogs. They will explain the specific husbandry needs of this Middle and South American amphibian group in respect to housing, keeping, nutrition (and how nutrition affects toxicity) and breeding. How to set up a terrarium with nice tropical plants and maintain tropicla climate will be another topic.
