The pet supplies industry shows a growing awareness for sustainability. Following this development, Interzoo offered a short conference on sustainability and its significance for the pet supplies industry. During this conference, participants gained an overview on the most important aspects of sustainability and had the opportunity to discuss key trends for our industry.
We started the session with a presentation of the initial findings of Interzoo´s Sustainability Initiative research study which is currently conducted in cooperation with the Antwerp School of Management (AMS). Following this presentation, the Swiss sustainability expert Dr Dorothea Baur explained why sustainability in the pet industry matters, how to start or improve and how to reap rewards. Finally, there was time for Q&A and further discussions.
Interzoo would now like to include visitors and exhibitors into the study who have not yet had the opportunity to fill in the questionnaire. We kindly invite you to complete the questionnaire before 8 June here.
Thank you for your support! If you have any questions on this project, kindly contact firstname.lastname@example.org ( send enquiry).

Sustainability in the pet industry - why it matters, what to do and how to reap rewards
The debate on sustainability has definitely reached the pet industry. Consumers extend their increased awareness for sustainability to their pets and scientists complement our CO2 footprints with CO2 paw prints. Now is the time to consider the environmental and social impact of our furry companions and to identify responsible business practices that help people, planet, profit and pets. What can industry representatives do to promote sustainability in their operations, along their supply chain and among their customers? And how can they make sure to reap the rewards for their engagement? In her presentation Swiss sustainability expert Dr Dorothea Baur addresses the core elements of a credible and effective approach to sustainability in the pet industry and outlines ideas on how industry players can lead the way.
