“High information density and relevance to the industry”: Successful launch of Interzoo Academy

In the run-up to Interzoo 2021, and to complement its on-site supporting and conference programme, Interzoo organizer WZF (Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft Zoologischer Fachbetriebe GmbH) is offering online presentations for the first time. In association with market research firm Euromonitor International and other partners, WZF released its first English-language online presentation on the subject of “Pet Industry Insights in Light of COVID-19” in July 2020 as part of its newly established Interzoo Academy. The presentation was met with strong interest around the world, and to date more than 1,200 participants in the international pet industry – including representatives from Uruguay, Costa Rica, and Barbados – have registered. Interested parties still have a chance to register for the presentation at no charge.
“We were impressed by the first online Interzoo presentation”
Louis Metzger, in charge of online sales at bosch Tiernahrung GmbH & Co. KG, was impressed by the high information density of the first online Interzoo presentation and its relevance to the industry: “The presentation succeeded in providing a comprehensive overview of the global situation, together with its repercussions for the pet industry. It was well structured, which was especially helpful. For example, the breakdown into the four key areas of influence: the macro environment, value chain, channels, and consumers, and the interesting outlook on the future after COVID-19. We agree with many aspects of the opportunities identified in the presentation that may arise post-pandemic, and also the general industry trends that it covered. This confirmed a number of relevant viewpoints, and it also gave us inspiration. We were impressed by the compact format of the first online Interzoo presentation, its high information density, and its indisputable relevance to the industry, and we’ll be happy to take part regularly in similar formats in the future.”
Andrea Korneli, Sales & Logistic Coordinator at Dog’s Nature GmbH, was also impressed by the new insights on offer: “The online Interzoo presentation is highly informative, using statistics to either confirm or disprove our earlier assumptions about the impact of the pandemic on the pet industry. It also provided new information that we weren’t necessarily expecting, and that came as something of a revelation.”
The thoroughly positive response to the first online Interzoo presentation has encouraged WZF to create more online sessions in a range of formats in the future, with a special focus on subjects like developing the global market for pet products, special insights into the pet-food market segment, the effects of e-commerce, and the importance of sustainability. The next presentation on “Petfluencing” will go online on 28 October 2020 (see the first article in the Newsletter).
