Good prospects for successful Interzoo 2018
The international pet sector will gather once again in Nuremberg from 8 to 11 May 2018 for Interzoo, the world’s biggest trade fair for the pet industry. Following the initial registration period, an increase in international participants is already apparent. In addition, there is special support to encourage German start-ups to exhibit at Interzoo, as the event has been included for the first time in the German government’s funding programme for international trade fairs. By mid-September, 11 companies had already registered for funding to exhibit at Interzoo 2018.
Hans-Jochen Büngener, Chair of the Interzoo Exhibition Committee, is very pleased with the registration numbers to date: “At this stage we have received more stand reservations from Germany, the rest of Europe and overseas than at the same time before the last fair.” Herbert Bollhöfer, Managing Director of Interzoo organiser WZF GmbH, is equally confident: “It’s all pointing to a successful Interzoo 2018. Not only do we have a high number of returning exhibitors, there are also 30 percent more first-time exhibitors expressing an interest in Interzoo compared with the same period before the previous event.”
Given these registrations, Interzoo 2018 will once again offer a global market overview of a new and innovative range of nutritional and grooming products and accessories for cats and dogs, birds, ornamental fish and terrarium animals. At the last Interzoo in 2016, 39,075 trade visitors from 117 countries learned about the products and services of 1,818 exhibitors from 61 countries on a display area measuring more than 115,000 square metres.
For years, exhibitors and visitors have repeatedly confirmed that participating in Interzoo has a genuine impact on your business. In 2016, 92 percent of exhibitors rated the general benefit of their participation as high to very high, and an equal number judged their overall success as positive. No less than 94 percent were able to showcase their products to their most important target groups, while 95 percent of companies forged new business connections. Based on contacts made at the fair, 92 percent of exhibitors expected to do follow-on business. Accordingly, nine out of ten exhibitors had decided immediately after the event that they would be taking part in the next Interzoo.
Visitors to the event also returned positive feedback: 94 percent stated that their visit to Interzoo had been worthwhile or very worthwhile, while 81 percent praised the innovative products and cutting-edge trends in particular. For 96 percent of trade visitors, the opportunities for information-gathering and networking met their expectations.
