Dental care
The teeth of dwarf rabbits and guinea pigs grow throughout their lives. By feeding them a high quality, hard, pelleted food, the teeth will naturally wear down, stay in shape, and reduce the risk of overgrowth. Overgrowth of the dental apparatus is a medical problem that leads to a reduction in the amount of feed consumed by the animals and, in extreme cases, to starvation. The occurrence of such a situation requires the intervention of a veterinarian.
Dr Rodents VetDiet pelleted feed for dwarf rabbits and guinea pigs is an important source of crude protein, crude oils and fats, crude fiber and crude ash. Pelleted feed should make up between 15% and 20% of the animals' daily diet. The amount can be adjusted to a small extent depending on personal preferences, health status, possible health problems and age. For females, pregnancy and feeding of the young these are important factors influencing the composition of the daily diet.
