ZIWI Limited is a New Zealand natural pet food company that began operations in Mount Maunganui in 2004. Inspired by the nutrition found in raw diets and a love for pets, and the high-quality free-range meat and seafood ingredients in New Zealand, ZIWI pioneered the world’s first air-dried cat and dog food. ZIWI distributes its award-winning New Zealand sourced and made cat and dog food products to more than 30 countries, including China, USA, Europe, Asia, and Australia. ZIWI employs 230 people across its New Zealand and offshore markets and sources all its meat and seafood ingredients from New Zealand-based supply partners.

ZIWI is currently nearing completion of a new 12,000sq m build of a custom processing kitchen in Awatoto, Napier. The kitchen will add processing capability and technology to support the development of new product lines, which will ensure ZIWI maintains its global leadership position in the premium air-dried pet food category. It is forecast that the kitchen, when at full production by late 2022, will employ c.120 people and ship 1,000 containers per annum of high-value pet food through the Port of Napier.
