Dicky Bag neoprene, odour proof, dog poop bin.

A dog walk in Cornwall was always my idea of an Idyllic treat right up until I had to pick up my dogs poop! Carrying that smelly awkward bag in my hand for ages was inconvenient and unpleasant. Of course leaving poop or bags of poop is unsociable, deadly to livestock and bad for the environment!

That’s why I invented The Dicky Bag an amazingly convenient way to do the right thing, lightweight, odourproof, machine washable portable bin, made in Cornwall from Neoprene rubber. Easily attached to anything including all dog leads, with the Karabiner, Velcro Strap or the Belt Loop. No spill Treat Bag simultaneously open & closed.

This amazing treat bag is open and closed at the same time! This means not only don’t the treats fall out you will be able to train your Dog more effectively. Often dog training is harder than it should be, a simple solution is speed up the delivery of the dogs reward/treat. Dogs are clever creatures and learn that certain actions result in a reward and so they will repeat this behaviour to receive another reward, however if the delivery of the reward is delayed when you are fumbling about to get a treat, the dog can lose attention, interest or you might be unwittingly rewarding a different behaviour than the one you wanted. Getting treats from an ordinary treat bag can be a fumble, wastes valuable time and dog training is much harder, especially if it has a drawstring, clasp, or zip! All of these have to be opened or released to get to the treats, then the treat bag is open and treat can spill out. So you have to reseal the bag for the short time before you treat your dog again.

If you don’t like it when contents of your treat bag fall out and you want instant reward for efficient dog training, you’ll love the way I have designed this new style of treat bag. It is always open, so treats are accessed instantly, yet it also automatically seals so there are no unwanted spills. Just use your finger and thumb and treats are delivered one at a time. No need to plunge your whole hand into the treat bag. The bag is lovingly made in Cornwall from the finest DuPont soft rubber Neoprene, the treat bag retains its shape, whilst also allowing you speedy and comfortable access to the treats through the clever slit on the lid of the treat bag. The rubber lid is reinforced with a specialist Neoprene called strong pad, which has an ingenious mesh within the material to avoid tearing and splitting.

I have also given a lot of thought to the ergonomic design and adaptability of the treat bag.

Use the carabineer to hook the treat bag over any waist band including leggings
Use the carabineer to clip to walking bag or dog lead
Slide the treat bag on any belt or bum bag strap using the inbuilt belt loop (especially good if running or doing agility)
Pop it in any pocket so it’s good for the winter months when the big coats come out!

The Neoprene will stop any smells or grease or gime form the treats penetrating through the treat bag on to you and then damaging your clothes. As Neoprene was invented for the extreme sports of diving and surfing in the Ocean you’ll find the bag is not only robust it can be washed. Either by hand or amazingly on a cool wash in the washing machine! Washing your treat bag keeps the nasty bacteria that could contaminate your bag if you regularly use real food teats, which dogs love so much. Sausages, liver cake, fishy treats even cheese, simply wash them away and don’t contaminate your new batch of delicious doggy treats.

The easy, soft access has proved advantageous for people with mobility issues and with the addition of a double sided Velcro strap called “one wrap” (available on request) the treat bag can be fixed to any style of wheelchair, stick, crutches or walking aids.

This version of our bags has a textured rubber outer which means water will run off of the outside of the Dicky Bag. The Double lined version has a thin layer of polyester on the outside which will get wet in the rain. The Neoskin neoprene is more expensive than the Double lined neoprene and is why you will see a price difference between the two types of bags. Being made from 4mm thick neoprene all of our Dicky Bags are waterproof (in that water is prevented from getting inside the bag) however water will run off the outside of the Neoskin bags but make the outer layer of the Double lined bags wet.

All of our bags are made from top quality genuine neoprene and is why they work so well. They are all hand made in Lostwithiel, Cornwall by skilled workers who have clocked up years of experience working with this specialist material. They are all made the same way so no style of bag will work any better than another, the difference in cost comes down to the expense of a the base material.

All of our Dicky Bags are glued and blind stitched to keep the integrity of the seams making the bags waterproof and odour proof. On double lined and designer styles you will see the stitch line on the outside of the bags and glue lines on the inside; on Neoskin bags you will see the stitch line on the inside and the glue line on the outside.

If your Dicky Bag gets dirty you can wash the bag in a machine on a cool 30 degree wash. We recommend removing all the loose items such as the carabineer and one wrap Velcro and turning the bottom section of the bag only inside out. When washed hang up and air dry. To keep your bag from taking on any unpleasant odours make sure that you replace the air freshener when required and wash when necessary.

Our bags are extremely tough and durable and are designed to be used on every dog walk you go on and if treated correctly will last you for years and years. To prolong the life of your bag we advise you clean and lubricate the zip regularly as you are using the bag outside in all weathers and conditions and small particles of dirt, grit, salt etc can easily get caught in the teeth and can result in zip damage

The top section of the, clean storage pocket, of the Dicky Bag is designed to accommodate any style of pick up bag including rolls or flat packs. The storage area is big enough to store 2 rolls.
