With the curli clasp harness, we are now presenting an all-round improved harness that once again raises the industry benchmark to a new level.

The most important feature that immediately catches the eye is the new buckle. The patented curli clasp buckle sits at the top of the harness and offers the dog owner maximum ease of use. With one click, the harness is secured and can then be attached to the leash with just one hand. This makes it easier than ever to leash up your dog, even when he is excited and fidgety about his pending adventure outside.  The curli clasp is made of polyoxymethylene (POM), is colour-coordinated with the harness fabric and is extremely robust. The buckle can withstand tensile loads of up to 100 kg. or 220 lbs.

The other improvements are not as obvious at first look, but offer many advantages, especially for the dog. The new harness is 20% lighter than the original curli vest harness (which itself was incredibly light and comfortable).  At the same time, it offers improved ergonomics and an optimized fit thanks to new cutting patterns and a new size scale. When the dog pulls on the leash, the weight is now even better distributed over the harness. To achieve this, the straps are sewn directly into the seams of the harness and have been designed for higher tension absorption. The air mesh material has also been improved and now offers even more comfort. About the Product

Your dog knows when you’re getting ready to take him out for a walk. He starts to become restless and can be fidgety, making it hard to get his harness and lead on. So how do you put on a harness like the Belka Comfort Harness quickly, ensuring the buckles are properly closed, especially when your dog is bouncing around and you have to ditch the lead in order to have two hands free to close the buckles?

This complex and dynamic process was our key area of focus when developing our patented buckle closure. The goal was to make fastening the buckle simple and stress-free and doable with one hand.

We used the magnetic forces for this. Because a magnet is perfect for this. It works without electricity, does not need to be charged or configured. It works with a natural, inexhaustible energy and costs nothing.

The magnet is a central element of a sophisticated mechanism that helps to close and secure the buckle with just one hand. It is enough if you approach and the two buckle elements close as if by magic. The lock snaps into place by itself and is secured. The advantages of the rope leash

The advantages of a rope line are obvious. Anyone who has already held both types of leash will feel the difference immediately. They feel significantly better. The handle is more comfortable and softer. Or in short: you simply prefer to have a rope leash in your hand. The material also offers several advantages. It is stronger and has the same extendability. The stretch in the material also cushions the jerk when your dog suddenly pulls on the leash.

One of the most important factors when taking your dogs out for a walk is the element of surprise. Suddenly, the dog sees something and his hunting instinct leads him to start running or to go in a direction where he shouldn't go. In such situations, the owner may wish to shorten the leash, so he can prevent the dog from running off in an undesirable direction.

In such situations, a regular lead is always worse than a rope due to its narrow sides. It often develops a pressure load that grows strongly and can cut into the hand. As a result, a rope leash distributes the pressure, meaning the owner is more in control - especially with medium and larger sized breeds.

What is Merino Wool?

Merino wool is a natural product and a particularly high quality form of  (Virgin) wool. It is obtained from merino sheep and is characterised by its special delicacy and softness.

The main properties and advantages of Merino:

• Doesn't smell (even after long wear) and therefore has to be washed less often
• Is sustainable and grows back
• Does not charge electrostatically (unlike synthetic materials)
• Insulates well in cold and also in heat
• Transports moisture
• Can absorb up to a third of their dry weight in moisture without feeling clammy
• Cools through evaporative cooling at warm temperatures
• Insulates even when damp
• Maintains the fit without becoming misshapen
• Has a natural sun protection factor of up to 50 (depending on density and weave)
• Is biodegradable (like wool in general)

99% of today's dog harnesses are made from synthetic materials, including crude oil. And although these fabrics have many advantages, like the air mesh from curli, there are unfortunately disadvantages as well. The biggest advantage though is that they are cheap, easy to manufacture and easy to colour.

The biggest disadvantage -  besides the fact that they are made from crude oil - is the smell development. If the fabrics are used  regularly, they will start to smell, depending on the wearer's evaporation and moisture. That’s where organic materials have a clear advantage. For example, wool has natural protection against the development of odours. But where does the smell come from? Moisture and salts on the hardware are optimal for bacteria, which begin to decompose the moisture and salts. This creates unpleasant smells. Because of its special fiber shape and composition wool - and especially merino wool - is better protected against the accumulation of moisture and salts than synthetic materials.

That is why it was the perfect material for the new Merli harness from curli. They show a significant reduction in odour. Another advantage of the organic material is that it does not become electrostatically charged. This has the great advantage that the dog hair does not stand up and get caught in the air mesh and knot through the movement. A pleasant advantage for all dogs with fine, soft and beautiful fur. The reason for this is the lower conductivity of wool compared to synthetic fabrics. These are easier to charge electrostatically when there is friction.

And last but not least, wool is a renewable, organic raw material. And with the right shearing technique, the sheep also feels comfortable. Animal welfare is always one of the most important factors for Curli and we make sure that the merino wool comes from a producer whose wool is certified and inspected.

For the new merino harness, we were able to reduce the proportion of synthetic fabrics by up to 50% by using 87% merino wool for the inner lining.
