Valpet’s philosophy can be summarised in a simple phrase: to supply the best product with an excellent value for money ratio. This is one of the biggest challenges for direct manufacturers and sellers and it is a challenge the company has been addressing since its foundation in 2008.
Valpet is the result of a merger of ‘historical’ companies with a presence on the Italian and international market for over 25 years: Progeo Petfood Division, based in Granarolo dell’Emilia (Bologna), Provimi, which had a production site in Carmagnola (Turin) and Ravasi, the original manufacturer of the Raff® brand based in Brivio (Milan). When you blend the ingredients in the
kitchen of some of the most experienced managers and executives in the Italian pet food industry, you get one of the tastiest
product ranges on the market. Although Valpet Group was only recently established, it can rely on the experience and vision developed by its president, Mr Paolo Valli, and a staff composed of professionals with years of experience in the pet industry.
Based on this solid foundation, Valpet initiated an innovation process and has become a company with a big complex single production site and a dedicated logistics centre serving the Italian and international market.
The range of products Valpet provides to its clients is incredibly wide. Among other things, the range comprises a variety of production standards, ranging from super premium to economy, for many different types of pets. The products are sold through various sales channels, such as pet shops, garden centres, specialty chains, regional distributors and dealers, veterinarians, breeders, kennels, and also associations. Typical examples are the single-protein super premium DaDo® dog food as well as the high-quality DaDo cat food, two product ranges that ensure a high quality nutrition to cats and dogs. Distinctive characteristics are the high-quality Italian ingredients and the single protein, which helps avoid and heal allergies in dogs. Valpet also boasts a certified factory for producing organic pet food. Additionally, Raff is a compound brand which meets the nutritional needs of birds, rodents and small animals. Raff and Raff Professional® are meaningful and valuable brands that provide very useful products for the care, treatment and feeding of birds and rodents. Valpet is also a known supplier to many actors in the pet food industry, as it also supplies private label products. In this particular sector, more than 30 private labels are on Valpet’s menu.
The network: national and international
Pet shops are at the very centre of Valpet’s sales channel and therefore it has an extensive network of sales representatives to cover the entire Italian territory. Moreover, Valpet also serves the Italian territory through its regional distributors and official authorised dealers, thus being able to distribute its products throughout the country. At an international level, Valpet can count on a constantly developing network made up of forty distributors for the various brands available in Europe, Russia, North- Africa, the Middle East, South America, the US and Japan. Increased interest of foreign markets in Valpet’s products proves that quality at reasonable prices is rewarded. Therefore, Valpet intends to continue its international aspirations along the same lines.
