We believe in challenging the widespread use of chemicals and replacing them with proven natural alternatives. We do this through an understanding of our natural environment and designing products that are environmentally friendly.
David, who is a biochemist and founder of GlobalTech Intl., has a vision to create safe environments in everyone’s home by swopping use of toxic chemicals with safe and effective natural alternatives.
We all love and treasure our own families. So the question we had when we started was, why do we introduce nasty chemicals into our home that can potentially risk the health of our children and pets?
We were keen to challenge the status quo and our company’s journey started with researching the natural methods plants use to repel unwanted bugs and pests.
Essential oils have been known for centuries as effective natural pesticides. The Plants produce these oils to prevent the plant from being destroyed by insects and it has worked effectively for millions of years. Replicating this phenomenon has several problems to overcome:
The oils are volatile and only last a few hours once the packaging is open.
Price, as the oils disappear quickly and need to be replaced daily, they are not so commercially viable
Now, thanks to our innovative technology, the oil’s vapour is released from natural material, such as powder or sand, slowly and it effectively keeps the target insect away. Each oil targets a different insect. For example, lavender deters fleas and geranium deters flies.
Our repellents work by disrupting the insects’ pheromone trails and thereby interfering with the way they communicate.
Our first product was to combine this technology with a problem we had trying to clean our dog. She loved jumping into muddy ponds but hated having a bath. It was always a drama and we always ended up getting soaked. We loved to cuddle her but she stank!
We developed a natural powder to clean her and keep her smelling fresh with lavender essential oil and called it Max & Lucy.
