Modern age and tradition, culture and nature, international flair and Franconian way of life. Nürnberg, the city in which the international pet industry meets at the world-leading exhibition Interzoo from 17–20 May, is undoubtedly one of Europe’s loveliest cities. Many places of interest, culinary treats and the charming surrounding countryside are always worth taking a trip away from the exhibition centre. Interzoo visitors should therefore allow a little time to discover the Franconian metropolis in more detail.

Today, the romantic flair of the Weinstadel (Wine Store), Henkersteg and Henkerturm (Hangman’s Bridge and Tower) ensemble at the heart of the old town of Nürnberg enchants visitors from all over the world. The Weinstadel is 48 metres long, which makes it one of the biggest timber-framed buildings in Germany.
