Interzoo 2012: Communication platform for pet specialists
With over 1,500 suppliers from an expected 53 countries, Interzoo is the biggest and most important communication platform for the international pet industry. However, it is not just the new products and innovations that will attract visitors to Nürnberg from 17–20 May 2012, but the talks with colleagues and the interesting supporting programmes organized by the exhibition and by the exhibitors too.

The manufacturers from the global pet industry present their product innovations for pets in eleven halls with access via two entrances. The central (Mitte) entrance near the underground station is for visitors starting their tour in hall 1 or hall 10. The east (Ost) entrance is for touring the exhibition to the left via hall 4A or to the right via hall 7A. There are taxi ranks at both entrances and a shuttle bus runs between the two entrances.

Plan a visit online or by smartphone

To visit as many exhibitors as possible, Interzoo visitors should plan their tour of the exhibition. The Interzoo website provides useful tips for visitors to plan the exhibition and an exhibitors database in which they can search for company names, keywords and product groups. As a recent addition, Interzoo also offers visitor-orientated information such as tips on travel and accommodation, an exhibitor search function and a hall floor plan for all mobile devices at m.interzoo.com. It is not necessary to download a program. If smartphone users accidentally enter the general Internet address for Interzoo or are routed there over a link, a browser sniffer detects that the user is a mobile device and routes him to the new mobile website automatically.

New concept for ZZF stand

Visitors will find the German Pet Trade & Industry Association (ZZF), the honorary sponsor of Interzoo, in a central location on stand 4-324 in hall 4: The professional association for the German pet industry presents its services on a newly arranged information stand with an open design. The members of the executive committee, the ZZF office staff and the chairmen of the ZZF state associations and working groups will be available on the stand throughout the exhibition for intensive talks on the German pet industry and ZZF. Retailers receive information about the services provided by the professional association, ZZF events, skeleton agreements and the German pet market.

Focus on training

Anyone interested can also obtain information about the association’s qualification and training services. For example, ZZF will present its newly published special training system folders for specific pets.

The ZZF “Pet Grooming Salon Group” focuses on another aspect of training: The programme on the ZZF stand every morning and afternoon includes grooming and clipping demonstrations for Kerry blue terriers, poodles, schapendoes, border terriers and Afghan hounds, and the care of pedigree cats. The group also provides information about its examination for “ZZF-qualified pet care assistant”.

Aquaria expertise on the ZZF stand

The WZF/ZZF stand also focuses on promoting aquaria. The association and its service subsidiary WZF GmbH in cooperation with aquaria experts Oliver Knott and Chris Lukhaup present the topical “Aquascaping”. With the aid of attractively designed aquariums, they show the modern art of aquarium design and explain its potential for the pet supplies trade. Oliver Knott, an aquascaper known beyond Germany, also demonstrates his skills every midday and shows what counts in setting up attractive and easy-care natural aquariums.

ZZF also presents its “Aquaria Survive Project” near the “Aquascaping” show. This is an interactive online portal www.my-fish.org with breeding programme intended to preserve the biodiversity of ornamental fish and introduce nature lovers to aquaria.

International trade press stand

Trade magazines from all over the world are on display in the NCC Mitte entrance area in front of hall 10 and at the east (Ost) entrance in front of hall 4A. The spectrum ranges from trade journals for the pet and garden supplies trade, pet keeping and veterinary medicine to animal magazines and customer magazines.

Business Lounge

The Business Lounge between halls 4/5 offers visitors the opportunity to attend to important work in peace away from exhibition activity or to recover from a strenuous journey. The lounge provides drinks, daily newspapers, a copying and printing service and communication services such as e-mail, telephone, fax and Internet access.

Interzoopet care centre

To save our four-legged friends having to spend too much time walking round the exhibition halls, the promoter offers a professional pet care centre, where pets are fed and looked after. The dog care centre for visitors’ dogs is located between the east (Ost) entrance and hall 7A.

Interzoo nursery

Visitors accompanied by children of 3 years or older can entrust them to the care of the exhibition nursery located between halls 4 and 5 (Service 4 near the east (Ost) entrance), where trained staff and ample toys are available.

Interzoo “Water Worlds” Party

Interzoo 2012 has a roaring party lined up for the industry again, when the Interzoo Party for exhibitors and visitors takes place from 6 p.m. on 19 May 2012 on the first floor of NCC Ost in the exhibition centre. Party guests can look forward to fine food and top entertainment with decorations based on the party motto “Water Worlds”.

The international buffets spoil guests with food from Neptune’s realm and other varied high-quality dishes. cook.watch gives party guests the opportunity to cook their own favourite dish completely on their own with the advice of chefs and be there when the chosen meat or fish is cut and prepared.

While guests in Sydney hall and the gallery feast and dance to a variety of live international music from the “Smile” band, others can enjoy the quieter atmosphere of the Mercator Lounge and the terrace, where the popular jazz band Shortcuts revives that relaxing romantic bar feeling.

The show by sand painter Natalya Netselya offers a chance to take a rest from dancing. Natalya creates lovely three-dimensional pictures in only a few seconds using her fingers and sand – also of animals from the Water World, of course. The atmosphere is less romantic and sensory in the Vasco da Gama restaurant, where guests suffering from football fever can watch the final of the UEFA Champions League.

Entrance tickets for the Interzoo Party are available from all information counters in the exhibition centre and at the ticket desk in NCC Ost from 5.30 p.m. on the evening (subject to availability). Tickets cost 40 euros (incl. buffet, draught beer, wine and soft drinks).

Exhibitors’ stand parties

Some of the exhibitors give parties on their stands immediately after the exhibition closes on Friday evening, 18 May 2012. Visitors and manufacturers meet to discuss industry news and trends over snacks and drinks from 6 p.m. onwards.

The promoter of Interzoo is Wirtschaftsgemeinschaft Zoologischer Fachbetriebe GmbH (WZF), which has appointed NürnbergMesse GmbH to organize the exhibition.
