/// Interzoo 2012 meets all expectations

The internationality of Interzoo increased again in 2012: 79 per cent of the exhibitors came from abroad. Altogether 1,539 companies (plus 3 per cent) from 53 countries presented their products and services on a gross display area of more than 100,000 square metres. The leading exhibiting nations besides Germany (321 companies) were the People’s Republic of China with 293, the USA with 136, Italy with 104 and Great Britain with 100 exhibitors.
The visitors at the exhibition are also becoming increasingly international: Whereas 62 per cent of the visitors came from abroad in 2010, this year’s figure rose to 65 per cent. The countries with the largest shares of visitors were Germany with 12,705, Italy with 1,967, France with 1,225, Great Britain/Northern Ireland with 1,106, the Russian Federation with 1,103, the Netherlands with 1,100, the Czech Republic with 1,089, Spain with 1,029 and Poland with 884. A total of 30,298 visitors came from Europe. Most of the visitors from outside Europe travelled from Asia (3,442), namely 2,500 from East Asia and 942 from the Middle East and Central Asia. This year in particular, there were more visitors from the Near East, especially from Egypt, Israel, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. America was represented by 954 visitors from North America and 889 from Central America, and 357 visitors came from Africa.
The next Interzoo takes place in the Exhibition Centre Nuremberg from 29 May to 1 June 2014.
