Information sheet on importation of pet food

Pet food may only be placed on the market in Germany if it complies with the German and European legal regulations. In particular, pet food may only contain additives that are approved by EU law. The act of handing over pet food constitutes placing it on the market, regardless of whether products are sold or provided free of charge.
